Delete your account
This page is for readers of the Nightspine app who want their account and the data that goes with it deleted.
How to request deletion
- Write an email to hello@nightspine.com with the subject line Delete my account.
- Send it from the email address you signed up with — that is how the request is verified. Nothing else is needed.
- You will get a confirmation reply once the deletion is done, within 30 days of the request.
What is deleted
- Your account and profile: email address, username, display name and Instagram handle.
- Everything you created: shelves and reading statuses, ratings, reviews, mood and pace tags, did-not-finish notes, reading progress, wishlists and their notes, content-warning votes.
- Who you follow and who follows you.
- Every share link you created — public shelf and wishlist pages stop working immediately.
What is kept
- The book catalogue itself (titles, authors, publication data) — it is not personal data and is not tied to your account.
- Crash reports and usage analytics that were already recorded. They are not tied to your identity: crash reports carry no user identity at all, and analytics events carry only an internal identifier that stops being linkable to you once the account is gone.
There is no additional retention period beyond the 30-day processing window. Details on how data is handled live in the privacy policy.
