No AI-generated text is ever shown to you as editorial or as another reader's words. Reviews are written by readers. Anything Nightspine says in its own voice is read line by line by a person before it ships.

What is built

Phase 1 and Phase 2 are shipped.

• Shelves — want to read, reading, read and did not finish, with progress.
• Reviews — ratings, written reviews, spoiler flags, mood and pace tags.
• Share cards — Instagram-ready review cards, story and feed.
• Wishlists — occasion wishlists with notes, shareable by link.
• Friends feed — what the people you follow are reading.
• Monthly wrap-ups — the month you read, as a card.
• Content warnings — reader-voted tags with severity, shown as aggregates.
• Import — bring a shelf in from elsewhere.
• Onboarding — the first-run path to your first shelved book.

What is being built

Phase 3 is in progress.

• The beta. This release: the trust and privacy pages you are reading, and the last of the release hygiene behind them.
• Monetization groundwork, named plainly: affiliate links on book links, and an optional paid tier for deeper reading stats.

The social core stays free. Shelves, reviews, wishlists, friends, cards and wrap-ups are not going behind a paywall.

Status

Nightspine is in beta, run by one person. The app and the backend each live in their own repository — nightspine-mobile and nightspine-backend — both private for now.
